Dr. Katrina Tesmer is a neonatologist who has practiced medicine at Children’s Hospital of Orange County for seventeen years.  For the last fifteen years, Dr. Tesmer has served as the Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, California, where she is also Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Tesmer was named a Physician of Excellence for Orange County by the Orange County Medical Association for 2015 and 2016 for her dedication to the medical profession and service to the community..

Dr. Tesmer, a first generation Polish-American, joined CMCF’s Board of Trustees and Directors in 1999 and has maintained strong ties to Poland.  Along with being a very active board member, Dr. Tesmer has taken it upon herself to personally help foster the next generation of aspiring Polish physicians by hosting numerous CMCF fellows at both her medical department and her home.
